MY PERSONAL RESPONSE

I absolutely love the packaging of this product!  It comes in a very pretty pink bottle with a shiny silver top that you turn to open.  The product pumps into your hand, which is nice as well.  The product itself has a tint to it, but spreads on clear.  It has the texture of a moisturizer and is very easy to apply evenly to the face.  The smell is light and fresh.  I immediately saw a glow to my skin and my face felt soft and moisturized.  Over time I have noticed a more even complexion and overall improvement in tone and texture.  I love that this product can be purchased locally or online.  I have always been a fan of Lancome and enjoy catching my favorite products when they have gift with purchase promotions.  The price may seem a little high, but to me it is certainly worth the money.  I will be purchasing this product in the future.  I have been using my bottle twice daily for a few weeks and still have plenty of product remaining in the bottle.  I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a fresh, glowing complexion!  There is a perfect solution for every skin tone.

The Color Run!

Okay, so first off, I am NOT a runner.  I will leave all of that to my BFF (who just had a baby!  I am a GODMOTHER!!!).  I am a jogger/walker at most.  For some strange reason, I still signed up for the local Color Run because it looked like so much fun!  I have to share with you just how much fun it truly is and I encourage anyone who has the opportunity to participate in one to take advantage!

OraMD Giveaway- Three Winners!

Trusted Health Products has offered another product to give away on my blog to three lucky winners!  This time, they are featuring the OraMD.  OraMD is an  all-natural liquid toothpaste/mouthwash/breath freshener. OraMD is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and fluoride-free and comprised of 100% pure botanical oils of almond, spearmint and peppermint.

Please be advised that OraMD may taste overwhelmingly stout over the first half dozen uses or so and you will experience a very strong, minty taste. You may want to start out using just a drop or two! This strong “burn” is actually the anti-inflammatory properties killing bacteria and does take about a week to get used to but the “burn” will decrease in time.

FREE BOTTLE FOR ALL READERS- YOU PAY SHIPPING

“The manufacturer is willing to offer my readers one FREE bottle. They said they would love to have my readers try out OraMD and agreed to send one bottle FREE if our readers would pay a minimal shipping and handling charge. Beautiful A.M. Moisturizer Giveaway- THREE WINNERS

I was contacted by the marketing manager of Trusted Health Products to test and review one of their most coveted products.  I was sent a bottle of Beautiful A.M. Moisturizer and Beautiful P.M. Revitalizer.  These amazing products come personalized with your name right on the label.  This is pretty awesome for me as I rarely find things with my name on it.  At the end of this post, you will have an opportunity to win one of three free bottles of the Beautiful A.M. Moisturizer or You're the Man A.M. Moisturizer (Yes, men are included in this giveaway)!

I used the products for a week and these are my results.

At first, I was a little nervous because it is an oil that goes on your face and I have acne prone skin.  It honestly only take a few drops to cover your face.  The instructions say to place 2-3 drops on each cheek, but I found it easier to place 4 drops in my hand, rub my hands together, and spread it all over my face.  I was pleasantly surprised that my face never did break out and is in fact softer, has a more even tone, and has a natural glow.  I do allow the product to sit for a few minutes before applying any makeup.  At night, this is the only product I used.  It is said to replace anti-aging creams, cleansers, firming creams, exfoliates, moisturizers, day/night creams, make-up removers, body lotions, nutrient pacts, and more.  Yes, you can even use these products as a makeup remover.  Simply place 1-2 drops on a cloth and wipe away your make up.

One of my favorite parts about these products are the scents.  The P.M. has a wonderful citrus scent that is fresh and invigorating.  The A.M. has a fruity scent that is calming and soothing.

Another A+ perk for me is that the company is located in Lexington, KY.  As a proud Kentucky girl, I love being able to promote local products that work.

Please be advised that within the first 30 days of using Beautiful, you may experience a brief blemish breakout. This typically lasts from 1-2 days, possibly up to a week. The botanical oils in Beautiful gently and naturally remove toxins and build up that have accumulated over time from the use of chemical-laden skincare products and cosmetics. These botanical ingredients also help remove the cause behind excessive oil production. If a breakout does occur, this is actually a really good sign, as your skin will be ridding itself of toxins that have built up over time. It’s important not to get discouraged during this brief detoxifying period, because once it ends, your skin will emerge with a more beautiful, young looking, radiant appearance. Results vary for each person. You may wash your face with soap before applying Beautiful; we also recommend that after 30 days you try washing your face with just warm water to see if it removes the dirt without soap.

“The manufacturer is willing to offer my readers one FREE bottle. They said they would love to have my readers try out Beautiful A.M. Moisturizer (for women) or You’re the Man A.M. Moisturizer (for men) and agreed to send one bottle FREE if my readers would pay a minimal shipping and handling charge. This is a one-time only offer!  They also agreed to include 2 eye-opening reports – The Poisons You Put On Your Face Everyday and Why Your Skin Care Products Have Never Worked: The Truth Revealed .”  That’s a total value of over $40.00. Click here to get your FREE Bottle and FREE reports now!”

**PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ABOVE OFFER REQUIRES YOU TO PAY SHIPPING AND HANDLING WHILE THE GIVEAWAY BELOW DOES NOT**

How to Organize Your Scarves

I thought I would do something a little different and share an idea that I had with you about how to store scarves.  I LOVE wearing scarves, but I hate finding room in my closet.  Last year I bought a small plastic dresser with drawers that I use to hold scarves and also as a night stand.  I hate that I have to roll my scarves for them to fit and that I have to make a mess of my drawers each time I dig to look for a specific scarf.  I am not a morning person, so usually I don't have time to be neat and just have to reorganize my drawers when I get home from work.  This year I decided to take advantage of a nook of empty space that I have in my bedroom.  You can still use this idea behind doors, in a laundry room, or in the back of a closet.

Here is the nook that I am referring to.
I put my tall mirror/jewelry stand in front of it.

This is how it looks behind the mirror.

The scarves hang on Command Hooks that do not damage walls.

Each set of scarves are threaded through a binder ring so that they hang easily on the hooks.
You can hang several scarves on one hook this way.

Simply open the hook and hang your scarves on the hook.
These are all infiniti scarves.

Close the hook gently so that you do not snag the fabric of your scarves.

Finally, you just hang the group of scarves on the hooks.

Voila!

I hope you enjoyed this simple tutorial and can use this tip to organize your own home!

The Box

The book is hardback and very high quality.  The author also has a very cute blog that I highly recommend checking out!  You can find it HERE.

Barr-Co. Original Scent Reed Diffuser
Value $46
This is a very nice, high quality diffuser with a scent that does not seem to irriate allergies.  This is actually going to be a Christmas gift for a friend of mine who loves this sort of thing.  I love that I can go Christmas and birthday shopping from my own home through Popsugar ;)

Rifle Paper Co. Coaster Set
Value $16
I think these coasters are gorgeous!  They are made from a durable carboard material.  I have a few of these on my ottoman right now and the others are gracing my teacher desk at school.

Sharkies Organic Energy Sports Chews
Value $1.70
These are fairly large gummy bears in the shape of a shark.  They don't taste as sweet as a gummy bear, but they were pretty darn good.  I ate a few and my boyfriend devoured the rest!

That's It Snack Bar
Value $1.67
I have not yet tried this snack bar, but I love the little munchies that they send.  I have been introduced to several yummy new healthy snacks thanks to Popsugar!

Kitsch Headbands

I absolutely love these kind of hair ties and headbands.  They are very gentle on your hair.  These seem to be more and more popular and thanks to their constant appearance (fronm various brands and boxes), I have enough of these to last a year! :)

I forgot to take a picture, but I also received a $25 gift card to Shoptiques!

All in all, this was a pretty good box for me!

Conair Curl Secret Review

I have been really wanting to try out the new Conair Curl Secret.  I even contacted the company about setting up a review (they have not yet responded).  Tonight, I decided to go ahead and splurge on it myself.  To sum it up in two words?  Major disappointment!

The Product

Cleaning Tool

What is it?
The Curl Secret is a tool that curls hair in a unique way.  After you plug it in and wait for it to heat up, you insert a section of the hair into the tool and press it together like you would a straightenter.  The mechanism spins, sucking your hair into the heated chamber that is supposed to curl your hair.

My Experience
I had to insert very small sections of hair in order for it to work.  I also had to run each section of hair through the tool twice in order to get a curl.  This may because I was new and was not using it correctly.  If I were to curl my entire head, I am sure it would take a good 30 minutes at the rate in which I was going. The straw that broke the camel's back, though, was when my hair got tangled and stuck in the chamber!  Yes, my hair was knotted around the hot chamber for way longer than what is healthy for hair.  I thought I was going to have to cut my hair out!!  I was in full blown panick mode.  They guarantee that this is not supposed to happen, but I guess I am just the unlucky one.  Too bad for them that I am a beauty blogger who likes to share her opinion of products. ;)  I would highly recommend that you not waste your money on this device and stick to a regular curling iron that you have control over.  I am sure there are lots of people out here who would love this, but it is just not worth the risk to me.  Even on review videos I found on Youtube (I decided to see if it was just me before I came to rant on here) girls who liked the product were saying to be careful.  My hair is just too precious to risk and have to be so careful with.

 The Results

PLEASE NOTE
Please note that I try to refrain from posting negative reviews, but I strongly felt the need to warn my cherished readers about this product.  I would hate to know that another girl wasted her money or sacrificed her hair when I knew the truth of what can happen.  I apologize for the negativity, but I just had the bejesus scared out of me.  Hopefully I will be able to share some products that I love instead in the near future! ;)

Winner Revealed

The winner of my Benefit Lash Bash giveaway is the beautiful Alex C!  Congratulations!

L'OREAL Magic Nude Liquid Powder Review

I have wanted to try the L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder foundation for a while now.  As luck would have it, I was offered to participate in a review of the product through SheSpeaks.  They sent me a bottle to try out and share with you.  I was not paid for this review and the thoughts are my own.

About L’Oréal Paris Magic Nude Liquid Powder Makeup:
This revolutionary liquid-powder formula glides on and transforms on contact to a fresh, powder-like finish for a look that’s flawless, yet undetectable. The lightweight foundation with SPF 18 will make you feel like you aren’t wearing makeup at all!

To apply: Shake well. For best results, pour just a few drops onto fingers and apply directly onto skin. Not recommended for use with a sponge or brush.

The first thing that I noticed about the bottle is that the opening in fairly small.  This is good if you are wanting to use a small amount or if you are wanting to prevent spills.  Of course I am a bit of a klutz, so you can see that I still made a mess with my bottle.

Of course, the next thing that I did was play with the foundation by testing it on the back of my hand.  I just had to see how it could go from liquid to powder.  It is actually really neat to watch and it feels so silky and soft while you are rubbing it in.  I applied the foundation all over my face using my fingers and noticed that the coverage was very even and it truly did have a light powder finish.  This foundation is very lightweight and perfect for anyone wanting light to medium coverage.  There are twelve shades to choose from and at $12.95 per bottle, this is a steal.  I also love the fact that it contains a sunscreen as I believe that every girl needs protection from the sun.

Here is a photo of myself before the foundation, directly after (in direct sunlight), and again after a long day of teaching.

My Take
While this foundation is perfect for those who like a light foundation, I have several flaws that I like to conceal.  In fact, L'Oreal True Match concealer is my best friend!  This foundation did not give me the coverage that works best for me.  I plan to use this during the summer when I tend to use lighter foundations.  My skin is a lot easier to manage in the summer when the sun fixes all my problem areas.  Also, who likes a heavy foundation in the heat? ;)  I definitely think that this foundation is worth the money and I enjoy the technique of turning from a liquid to powder.  I am a fan of the L'Oreal line and would certainly recommend this product to a friend.

I hope this review helps anyone who is interested in trying L'Oreal Magic Nude

Lash Bash - Benefit Giveaway

Hello lovely ladies!  I am so excited to share some great news with you!  I was chosen by Ispy and Benefit to host a Lash Bash this Saturday.   What is a lash bash, you ask?  I was sent a cosmetic bag full of Benefit cosmetics for myself and 10 sets of Benefit samples in cute little goody bags for my friends.  At the end of this post, I will give YOU a chance to win some of the products from my bash!

*Please excuse the quality of the photos in this post.  My camera was dead, so I had to use my phone in poor lighting.  I just couldn't wait any longer to share.

My Loot

Guest Gifts

Of course I was too impatient to wait for my party, so I decided to test out the products a little early.  Hey, I have to be informative at my party. ;)  Here is a picture of a look that I created this Saturday:

I received several compliments, so I would like to share how I acheived this look.  Most of the products used are from my hostess kit.

1. I usually apply primer, but on this day I forgot to.  I started with Sephora 10 Hour Wear Perfection Foundation ($20 sephora.com).  My shade was matched perfectly for me using the Color IQ.  You can learn more about that HERE.  I applied it using my Everyday Minerals Flat Top Brush ($12.99 everydayminerals.com)

2. Next, I applied Revlon Nearly Naked Powder in Medium ($7.99 at local retailers) using my all time favorite powder brush.  I use IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Powder Brush ($24 Birchbox).

 3. Next I used gimme BROW ($22 benefitcosmetics.com) in  light/medium on my brows to help soothe and shape them.

4. After that I applied new Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow ($20 each benefitcosmetics.com) in Bikini Tini and Bronze Have More Fun.  These are my new favorite shadows.  I applied it directly with my fingers.  The product melted to my fingers upon touch and glided effortlessly on my lids.  I used Bikini Tini all over the lid and smudged Bronze Have More Fun in my creases.

5. Next I applied Kat Von D Tattoo Liner (100 point perk Sephora) on my upper lid right along the lash line.

 6. Following that, I applied two coats of the infamous Yes, They're Real mascara ($23 benefitcosmetics.com).  It really does make your eyes pop!

 7. The next step is to sweep some Hervana "good karma" face powder on your cheeks.  This powder blends nicely to give a soft glow.  I love that it is not overpowering, but makes you appear bright and alert.

8. Now I used Benetint ($30 benefitcosmetics.com) on my lips. This product looks blood red, goes on like a liquid, and dries quickly as a perfect rosy hue.  It can look a bit intimidating in the tube, but I have used this for a long time as both a lip and cheek stain and it is very natural.

9. Finally, I topped my lips with American Beauty Enduring Beauty Lipstick in Plum Crazy ($14.50 Kohls).  This is one of my favorite shades for my skintone and I receive compliments all the time.  It is very long lasting and leaves lips nice and smooth.

Ok, now for the part you have all been waiting for...

THE GIVEAWAY

I will be giving away a Benetint stain deluxe sample (value $8), a travel size They're Real mascara ($7.50), and deluxe sample of Sugarbomb lipgloss ($10) for a total retail value of $25.50.  I will also have an additional Sugarbomb lipgloss available on my Facebook page for those who share my page with their friends.  Be sure to check out my facebook page for more details.
