Conair Curl Secret Review

I have been really wanting to try out the new Conair Curl Secret.  I even contacted the company about setting up a review (they have not yet responded).  Tonight, I decided to go ahead and splurge on it myself.  To sum it up in two words?  Major disappointment!

The Product

Cleaning Tool

What is it?
The Curl Secret is a tool that curls hair in a unique way.  After you plug it in and wait for it to heat up, you insert a section of the hair into the tool and press it together like you would a straightenter.  The mechanism spins, sucking your hair into the heated chamber that is supposed to curl your hair.

My Experience
I had to insert very small sections of hair in order for it to work.  I also had to run each section of hair through the tool twice in order to get a curl.  This may because I was new and was not using it correctly.  If I were to curl my entire head, I am sure it would take a good 30 minutes at the rate in which I was going. The straw that broke the camel's back, though, was when my hair got tangled and stuck in the chamber!  Yes, my hair was knotted around the hot chamber for way longer than what is healthy for hair.  I thought I was going to have to cut my hair out!!  I was in full blown panick mode.  They guarantee that this is not supposed to happen, but I guess I am just the unlucky one.  Too bad for them that I am a beauty blogger who likes to share her opinion of products. ;)  I would highly recommend that you not waste your money on this device and stick to a regular curling iron that you have control over.  I am sure there are lots of people out here who would love this, but it is just not worth the risk to me.  Even on review videos I found on Youtube (I decided to see if it was just me before I came to rant on here) girls who liked the product were saying to be careful.  My hair is just too precious to risk and have to be so careful with.

 The Results

PLEASE NOTE
Please note that I try to refrain from posting negative reviews, but I strongly felt the need to warn my cherished readers about this product.  I would hate to know that another girl wasted her money or sacrificed her hair when I knew the truth of what can happen.  I apologize for the negativity, but I just had the bejesus scared out of me.  Hopefully I will be able to share some products that I love instead in the near future! ;)
