Dawlens Personalized Gifts Review

I am a lover of all things cute and personalized.  I just so happened to come across an Instagram page that had the most adorable personalized gifts for sale.  They have everything from koozies, to wine tumblers, to brushes, to makeup bags, to pacifiers.  You name it!  There is something for everyone.  I have been stalking the site for a few months now and finally decided to spoil myself with an order of goodies just for me!  The seller was super sweet and the shipping was super fast!  I received my items today and am beyond excited to share them with you!

**Please note that these products were not provided for me for blogging purposes.  This was my actual full price order, I just was so pleased that I wanted to review for you lovely ladies!  All of the opinions in this review are my own.

Even the box had this adorable sticker to help me get excited before even opening it up!

Here are my beauties, all wrapped up beautifully.  I did not want to ruin how cute they looked, but my excitement for seeing and using my products got the best of me.

This is my too-cute-for-words wine tumbler.  I plan to use this on many a hot summer day.  My boyfriend's mother got me addicted to Pineapple Malibu and I have a feeling this little cup will me sitting by my side at the pool all summer long.  This stemless wine glass retails for $12.

Next I got this gorgeous brush. I love the color combination and the bow makes me so happy!  This is hands down my favorite brush ever!  This brush comes in different style and personalization options.  It retails for $11.

The adorable cup on the left is a reusable plastic solo cup that comes in several colors and personalization options.  It also has a lid with a straw and retails for $12.  The cup on the right is my new water cup for school.  I love the stripes and color combo.  This will certainly inspire me to consume my H2O for the day!  This tumbler retails for $16.

So you would like to place an order now, right?  There are several ways that you can find the perfect item for you!  Happy shopping!

Influenster Spring Fling Voxbox

I was lucky enough to be a recipient of a Spring Fling Voxbox from Influenster.  I had a blast reviewing the products inside and love to be able to share the results with you!

1. Playtex Sport Fresh Balance Tampons-
I received a full size box to review.  I have not yet been able to use this particular box, but have used this brand and type before.  I love that the brand is trusted and that I can feel confident that I am protected when I need it the most.

2. Remmel London Scandaleyes Retroglam Mascara
I received a full size product of this as well.
I LOVE this mascara.  It made my eye look very bright and my lashes were full without the clumps.  I love that the product is very reasonably priced and can be found at local drugstores or mass retailers.  I have come to love Rimmel's line of products and am ecstatic to have been introduced to this new staple in my makeup bag.  Check out the results for yourself!

3. Kiss Everlasting French Nails
This was also a full size product.  I usually always have my nails done professionally at a salon and am obsessed with acrylic.  I just so happened to have taken off my nails just before this came, so I was able to test these out immediately.  I have not worn press on nails since I was in high school, so my technique could use a lot of work.  Some of the glue did not apply evenly and I could see a slight difference on one of my thumb nails.  Other than that, the application looked flawless.  I love that these nails have each to remove tabs that are numbered for easy application and size selection.  These nails are said to last 7 days, but I am pretty brutal with my hands and had a few pop off the following day.  It was very simple to glue them back on, but I just realized that my acrylics are better suited for me.  If you are not rough like I am and are looking for an inexpensive, temporary way to glam up your look, I highly recommend these nails!

4. Nivea Skin Firming Hydration Moisturizer
I am not a huge fan of lotions, but this one I could totally see myself using this as a go-to moisturizer.  It was lightly scented and did not feel thick or greasy (my two pet peeves with lotions).  I love that my skin felt super smooth and soft after just one use.  I love that this is also an inexpensive item that can easily be found at local retailers.

5. Softlips Cube
This was a MAJOR bummer for me.  Some people received this product while others did not and I was one of those who did not.  I was SO looking forward to trying this product the most out of everything in the box.  I am in love with my EOS and I wanted to give the Softlips brand that I adore a try.  I even went to my local CVS to see if they had this in stock and they did not.  I REALLY want to get my hands on one of these to try.

6. Labor Day Movie
This was another slight bummer as I was hoping that we would get a download code or possibly a rental coupon to actually watch the movie, but instead we received an apple pie air freshener that I really didn't care too much for.  I did appreciate the thought, though. :)

Birchbox for FREE!

I hear ladies tell me all the time that they hear that Ipsy is better than Birchbox.  Although, I do love Ipsy as well, my heart belongs to Birchbox.  I just feel like most people don’t know how to make Birchbox work for them.  If you read along, you will see how I get my Birchboxes for FREE! (No need to blog to receive these boxes for free, either)

It is really all about some simple math and taking advantage of bonus points.  If you would spend at least $110 in full sized merchandise throughout the year, then the samples in your boxes are really just bonuses that you get all year long.  Although there are often sample sizes in the Birchboxes, they sometimes throw in full sized goodies as well.  It’s hit or miss some months, sure.  I am really okay with that knowing that technically the boxes are free.

So how do I figure that these goodies are on the house?  Here is how I do it:
1.      Always purchase the yearly subscription.  You get a $10 discount and pay $110 up front for the year.
2.      When you sign up for the year, you will also receive 110 bonus points towards free merchandise.  100 points= $10.
3.      I always sign up when they offer a coupon code such as a bonus 100 points for signing up for a yearly subscription.  100 points= $10 more
4.      Each month, you can review the products you receive.  This takes about 10 minutes total and you get 10 points per item reviewed.  On average, I get 6 items per month, give or take.  Reviewing 6 items = 60 points x 12 months= 720 points= $70
5.      So already, I have $90 worth of free stuff.  I never make a purchase until I have a 25% coupon code (points don’t expire for a year).  That means my $90 in points= $112.50 in merchandise.

Since I only paid $110 for my subscription, I am actually coming out on top!  I didn’t even mention the bonus points for referrals.  You receive 50 points for each person that you refer.  Two referrals= $10 more in free, full size stuff that you get to choose!

When you think about it this way, it’s smart to choose Birchbox over Ipsy.  Although you get less full size products in your boxes, at least you have choices on which products you end up with.  Often the Birchboxes are valued at $15-$20 or above, even without a full size item.
So what are you waiting for?  Sign up TODAY!!

Right now you can get 50 bonus points for subscribing using the promo code SUMMER50 or $5 off of your first box using the code SUMMERSUB.  Happy Shopping!

Super Star Talent

I have been become more and more obsessed with Instagram.  All I have to do is search a hashtag and I am introduced to cute phone icons/themes, new makeup tips, products to add to my wishlists, ideas for eating healthy, motivation as a teacher, you name it!  Somehow, I came across an amazing profile of a beautiful artist, Chrissalynne, who creates digital art.  You can check out her work HERE.

Chrissalynne's work seems to be geared toward capturing portraits.  Every time she posts a piece, I am completely enamored.  One of my favorite pieces of hers is that of one of my favorite vloggers, Kandee Johnson.  I decided to check into her pricing and found that her portraits are actually quite reasonable, so of course I asked if she could complete a commissioned portrait for my blog.  I was overly impressed with how quick, professional, and down to earth she was.  She was fast to respond to all of my emails, provided me with a sketch to preview before charging me, asked me questions so that she could tailor my piece to my liking, and made sure I was 100% satisfied.  She also asked for permission to post my photo on her page (which, of course, I obliged).  I am sure that I will be seeing even more great things from her in the future!
